Major Maintenance for 2022 (January to April 2022)
Greetings from Cyanide Heights!
Pardon the long silence! We've been having quite the spring cleaning to make sure that channels that are not needed are removed, requested channels that would be added, and more adjustments are being made to focus more on optimizing the server to be more friendly to users. These lengthy maintenance notes will discuss a lot of the changes and adjustments that have been implemented on Cyanide Heights.
-Section 01: Moderation and Server Security-
Moderation and Server Management is a key to promoting safety within the server. As such, staff have now been provided with a special handbook and have been given proper information on the side of moderation.
In addition, we've heard a lot of feedback concerning the selection of new staff members, whereas the Application System is seen as slightly difficult to answer and the resource for the Staff Guidelines was seen as way too long and complicated to memorize.
on that note, we've heard your voice! The Heights Staff Applications System has been remade to remove questions outdated from the current setup of the staff team and made each input that is being requested easier to understand. The Legacy System, powered by google forms, will now be phased out in favor of the NX System powered by Tripetto.
Furthermore, old systems such as the Limited Access role have been removed due to the lack of usage and reliance by the Heights Management Bureau. Originally, this role is given to members to restrict their access to gifs, files, and more from the server. However, with Discord approaching new features and options that we are seeing to use to our advantage, this role no longer seems to hold a purpose to remain.
The Cyanide Heights Support System is now accessible via Slash Commands and making it much faster to make a support ticket! no need to type in and answer every question to get support from staff! Just type /support and the subject of the ticket, then our custom bot will handle the rest for you! The system powered by the message command will be updated in the coming weeks or months, depending on the owner's availability.
-Section 02: Channels and Categories-
People know how many channels are in Cyanide Heights and often do specific channels go inactive for a very long time.
The following categories have been modified:

Library Voices (Voice Channels) | VoiceMaster bot has been removed due to no reliance by members, as well as the channel made for it. Activities bot has been added for YouTube's Watch Together feature and more from Discord Games Lab. |
Other Creative Areas | Removed "Your Tunes" channel due to inactivity. |
Hall of Events | Removed "Censor Speaker Challenge" due to inactivity. Added the QOTD bot to assist in managing the server's QnA Series. |
Commissions Hall | Added an Announcements Channel with its specific ping role for Artists, and removed channels where their owners are no longer in Cyanide Heights. |
General Reception (Main) | Permissions in both Off-Topic and General chatrooms have been added to allow people who reach Bronze League and up to be able to send GIFs and Pictures. |
In addition, two new Minecraft Servers have been re-opened, powered by Aternos! This is in response to feedback by Minecraft Java players within Cyanide Heights to have an easily accessible server while the Integrated Minecraft Server is offline. The chatroom for this is within the General Reception Category.
-Section 03: Events and Others-
We've been tweaking some events in the background based on the retention of people joining and leaving the events.
>> Live Feedback Conference
Sweet banner! I didn't notice that you guys changed the interface.
The Heights Live Feedback Conference, for now, will be scheduled in August, on Cyanide Heights' anniversary month. An updated plan would be that this event will only be held annually, or at least twice a year to prevent overworking the bureau and/or members.
To allow anonymity of questions, there will be a separate link to a special form where questions will be sent and where people may be given an option to not show their name when the questions are being answered live.
As of writing, there are no changes to the flow of the Feedback Conference.
>> Other Events
People have also suggest to hold Gartic Phone events, and it has been successful in its test run. We're planning to see if we can hold it more frequently so other people may join!
In addition, we would like to apologize for the inconsistency of the Top 3 active guests of the week event! The owner has been having some time constraints to be able to hold it every Saturday. We'll see to it that the event will be held again soon in the coming weeks.
The art from last year's Heights Anniversary Giveaway is expected to be delivered to the winners soon. Sorry about that! We'll make sure to give it within this month.
